Questions asked about this alert
- When can I expect a machine to detect a Chiller Electrical Issue?
- The chiller has presented an overcurrent 3 or more times in a 24 hour period.
- What should be done when I encounter this alert?
- Ensure there is no power loss at the site and that the machine is fully plugged into an outlet (NOTE: Do not use a surge protector to plug in The Standup 2.0, a wall outlet is required).
- Ensure connections to the Chiller are properly seated.
- Ensure there is proper ventilation (3 inches on either side and 2 inches at back) around the machine and that the chiller fan is clear of debris.
- Listen to validate that the chiller fan is running when the chiller is enabled
- If all of the above appear within spec, the machine might need a new chiller or Power Module Board.
- Will the alert fire again?
- Yes, if the machine continues to experience overcurrents, then this alert will refire. If you experience this alert repeatedly after a chiller swap, there is a high likelihood that you need to swap the Power Module Board.
NOTE: If you clear the alert without addressing the issue, the alert could reappear
Parts required if a problem is found:
Carbonator, V2 SU - Bevi Part #105311-01
FRU - POWER MODULE - Bevi Part #720-0101
Before deciding to replace the chiller or power module, please try the following troubleshooting steps to see if the chiller issue will resolve.
Check how the Chiller is performing: Enter the Service Panel by clicking the gear icon in the top left corner of the dispense screen, select “Start Service” and enter the pin code “1986”. Select “Machine Alerts”, and select “Troubleshooting Tools”. ›
Once there, look in the Data Section
Verify the following:
- In the ”Controls” section, ensure the “Compressor” is “ON”. (see below)
- In the “Data” section, under “Chiller”, validate the “Compressor current” is within the proper range of 2.5 to 3.5 amps.
If any of the above are NOT as indicated proceed with Troubleshooting. If all are fine, Clear the Alert, reset the machine and see if Alert triggers again over the next 10 minutes when the chiller is running and cooling down.
How to troubleshoot
- Task 1 - Confirm there is proper power coming into the Machine:
- Confirm there was no power loss or power surge at the site by talking to the site contact.
- Confirm with the site contact that there is no issue with the outlet the machine is plugged into and follows the specifications outlined in the Standup 2.0 Installation Guide in the Electrical Requirements Section.
- Confirm that the cord at the back of the machine is fully plugged into the wall outlet designated for the machine.
- If all of the above appear to be in spec, proceed to task 2.
- Task 2 - Confirm Chiller Connections are properly seated within the Chiller:
- Validate the power cable coming from the PDB to the large chiller cable connection.
- If all of the above appear to be in spec, proceed to task 3.
- Task 3 - Confirm there is proper ventilation to both the Machine and Chiller:
- Reference the pre-installation spec for a Standup 2.0 to ensure there is proper ventilation surrounding the machine.
- Confirm if there is no dust or debris in the chiller fan and that the fan automatically turns on when the compressor is running. This can be tested by turning the compressor on while in troubleshooting tools.
- If all of the above is ok, there might be an issue with either the Chiller or the Power Module. Contact the tech support team to order and get guidance on the best course of action.
Remember to Clear the Alerts
- If the above troubleshooting tasks are completed and an issue is resolved or no issue is found, be sure you clear the alert prior to leaving the site so the machine can resume normal function. You can clear the alerts by marking them “Resolved”
