Overview
This guide will walk you through step by step process to remove and replace the Level Sensor & Pressure Relief Valve assembly in the Bevi Standup 1.5. The Level Sensor and Pressure Relief valve component may be either black or white in color, with no difference in function.
Required Tools & Materials
- 720-0149 - Level Sensor and Pressure Relief Valve
- #2 Phillips screwdriver
- #3 Phillips screwdriver
- Small Bucket
Removal Procedure
Task 1: Depressurize the water system.
- Power off the Bevi.
- Turn off power to the unit by flipping the switch on the back near where the power cord connects.
- Open the door.
- Close the buffer tank.
- The buffer tank valve is located behind the CO2 tank.
Turn the valve 1/4-turn clockwise to close (pointed forwards/perpendicular to the flow of water).
- The buffer tank valve is located behind the CO2 tank.
- Power off Chiller.
- The power switch is located on the right side, towards the rear of the chiller.
- Using Diagnostic Lines, depressurize the Still and Sparkling outputs.
- Remove the Still and Sparkling Diagnostic lines from the grommets at the base of the door.
- Place both lines into a bucket.
- Open the Still Diagnostic Valve until completely depressurized, then close the valve.
- Open the Sparkling Diagnostic Valve until only CO2 is coming from the line, then close valve.
- Turn off the CO2 tank.
- Reopen the Sparkling Diagnostic Valve again until all CO2 pressure is released.
- Once all CO2 pressure is released, close the valve.
Task 2: Remove the chiller.
- Remove the bracket at the base of the chiller
- Using a #3 Phillips screwdriver, remove the two screws securing the bracket.
- Note: If the screws are corroded and you are unable to remove, contact Bevi Support at 866-704-BEVI before proceeding to next steps.
- Disconnect all inputs and output tubes from the chiller.
- Remove red locking clips from each fitting.
- Disconnect Water In, Ice Bank Fill, CO2 In, Sparkling Out, and Still Out tubes from the front of the Chiller.
- It is much easier to disconnect the tubing from the 90° elbow push-to-connect fittings. Leave the elbow fittings connected to the chiller.
- Carefully slide the chiller out of the Bevi and place on the ground.
- Take care to keep the chiller as flat and level as possible.
- Note: It is possible that some water may spill out of the ice bank while removing the chiller.
Task 3: Remove the sheet metal cover.
- Using #2 phillips screwdriver, remove the 10 screws securing the cover to the chiller.
- There are 6 screws on the front, and 4 on the back.
- Lift the cover off of the chiller.
- You may need to pull the side panels out slightly to separate the cover from the Chiller.
Task 4: Remove the Level Sensor Assembly
- Disconnect the CO2 input tube from the push-to-connect elbow on the level sensor.
- Disconnect the red wire from the level sensor pin.
- Disconnect the level sensor from the carbonation tank.
- Remove the red locking clip from the push-to-connect fitting.
- Remove the level sensor assembly from the metal stem fitting on the top of the carbonation tank.
Installation Procedure
Task 5: Install the Level Sensor.
- Install the level sensor into the carbonation tank.
- Ensure the push-to-connect fitting is fully seated onto the metal stem on the carbonation tan.
- Reinstall the red locking clip.
- Reconnect the Co2 input tube.
- Ensure the tubing is fully seated into the fitting.
- Reinstall the red locking clip.
- Reconnect the red wire to the level sensor pin.
Task 6: Reinstall the Chiller.
- Place the cover back onto the chiller.
- Reinstall all 10 screws to secure the cover to the chiller.
- Lift the Chiller and slide into the base of the Bevi.
- The chiller feet need to slide into the slots of the rear bracket for proper placement.
- Reinstall chiller bracket.
- Reconnect all tubing to the front of the chiller.
- Ensure tubes are fully seated into push-to-connect fittings.
- Reinstall red locking clips.
Task 7: Top off the Ice Bank
- Power on the Bevi machine.
- Top off the Ice Bank.
- During the removal and reinstallation process it is likely that some water will spill from the ice bank.
- From the Service Panel, touch “Advanced” in the upper right corner of the screen.
- Touch “Open Inlet” in the lower left of the Advanced menu.
- You should hear the inlet solenoid click open.
- With the open end of the overflow tube draining straight down into a collection container, open the ice bank fill valve to begin topping off the ice bank.
- Open the ice bank fill valve until water begins to flow from the overflow tube.
- As soon as water is flowing from the tube, close the ice bank fill valve.
- Allow any excess water to drain from the tube, and resecure the open end of the tube into the clips.
- Open Buffer Tank.
- Turn the Buffer Tank valve counter clockwise so it is pointed upwards to open.
- Turn on the CO2 tank.
- Plug in Power Cable and power on the Chiller.
Task 8: Test Functionality
- Exit the Service Panel to the main dispense screen.
- Pour both still and sparkling water to verify Bevi is dispensing properly.
- Check for any leaks.
- If any leaks are found, inspect all connections and ensure tubing is fully seated.
- Close and lock the door.
