Decommissioning Steps
Task 1: Turning off Water to the Bevi Machine
- Locate the supply water shut off valve.
- If not located in the cabinet, follow the water supply line from the “Water In” fitting on the back of the chiller to locate the shut off valve.
- Turn the valve to the closed position.
Task 2: Depressurize the water system.
- Place a container under the nozzle.
- Dispense Still water until no water is pouring from the nozzle.
- Dispense Sparkling water until no more water exits the nozzle, and only CO2 is dispensed.
- Turn off the CO2 tank.
- Turn the tank valve clockwise until it stops.
- Dispense Sparkling water again until all CO2 pressure is released.
Task 3: Removing CO2 and Flavor Boxes (BiB’s)
💡 NOTE: Before priming/dispensing, make sure to have your cup/bucket ready in the right location to avoid a mess.
- Unthread the 4 flavor connectors from the flavor boxes.
- On the screen, navigate to the Service Panel.
- Place a container under the nozzle.
- Prime each flavor until no more flavor concentrate pours from the nozzle.
- Save (2x) BiB boxes. Dispose of the rest.
- Cardboard may be recycled; Internal bags should be removed and disposed of.
- No BiB box? If there is no spare BiB box on hand, substitute another box or bag that can be sealed and secured for shipping back loose parts/accessories.
- Remove the drip tray from the Bevi dispense area on the head unit, and place inside an empty BiB box.
- Disconnect the CO2 tank.
- Using a 1-1/8” or adjustable wrench, disconnect the CO2 regulator from the CO2 tank.
- Secure the regulator in one of the empty BiB boxes, to return along with the machine.
- Remove the CO2 tank from the cabinet.
- Remove the CO2 tank strap and brackets from the cabinet.
REMINDER: CO2 tanks should not be returned to Bevi.
Task 4: Mark the unit as In Warehouse.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Decommission First. Make sure that the previous steps have all been completed prior to updating status and moving it to your warehouse.
🌐 Internet Connection Required: The Bevi must be online and connected to complete this process. If not already, connect the machine to the internet before changing the status. This ensures the status properly updates on both machine and The Well.
- On the screen, enter the Service Panel.
- Touch the Service icon, then “Start Service”, and enter PIN code: “1986”
- Once in the Service Panel, click the Settings button on the home screen of the Service Panel
- Once on the Settings page, locate or scroll to the Status row, and click the editing icon to the right (square with pencil).
- Reminder: Active internet connection is required.
- In the Edit Status box, tap the In Warehouse button.
- A confirmation will appear. Tap the "Yes, Erase All Data" button to confirm that you want to mark the machine as In Warehouse and reset the machine.
- After confirming on the pop-up, the Bevi machine will restart automatically, and is reset/erased. The status on The Well is changed to "In Warehouse".
- You can now power the Bevi down, and it will return to Install Mode (EULA screen) the next time it turns on, ready to begin a new installation.
Task 5: Disconnect Electrical cables from the Chiller.
- Once the Bevi machine is fully powered down, disconnect the electrical cables from the chiller.
- Carefully lift the front of the chiller so the locating tabs on the bottom can come up and out of the ventilation holes.
- Slide the chiller forward so the front hangs over the edge of the cabinet.
- This will allow for easier access to the back of the chiller.
- Disconnect the power cord, threaded 24 V barrel connector, and the USB communication cable.
Task 6: Disconnect the water lines and CO2 regulator from the Chiller.
- Disconnect the 3/8” Water In line.
- Disconnect the 1/4” Still and Sparkling out lines.
- Remove the CO2 panel from the top of the chiller.
- Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, loosen the two screws securing the CO2 panel to the top of the chiller.
- With the screws fully loosened, lift the front of the panel up, and slide forward to release the rear locating tabs.
- Disconnect the 1/4” CO2 push to connect elbow.
- Disconnect the CO2 high pressure switch cable.
- Carefully lift the chiller out of the cabinet and place it on the floor.
Task 7: Empty the Chiller Ice Bank
- Remove the right side panel from the chiller.
- Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, loosen the two screws at the top, and remove the panel.
- Locate the ice bank drain port at the bottom of the ice bank.
- Remove the red locking clip from the push to connect fitting,
- Place a small bucket or container below the drain port, and remove the plug.
- NOTE: Be ready to reinstall the plug in case the container fills up before the ice bank is fully drained.
- Allow the water to drain into the bucket until the ice bank is completely empty.
- Once empty, reinstall the plug and red locking clip.
- Reinstall the side panel.
Task 8: Remove the head unit.
Disconnect the power cord from the outlet.
-
Unscrew and remove the split nut from the threaded coupler.
- Once the split nut is fully threaded off of the coupler, a small flathead screwdriver can be inserted into the slot of the clamp to pry apart.
Carefully lift the head unit up from the countertop.
- Once the threaded coupler is out of the hole, you can lay the head unit down on the back.
- If there is not enough clearance between the head unit and cabinetry above, you can unthread the entire coupler from the base of the head unit.
- This will allow flexibility to tilt the head unit separately from the coupler and remove.
- Remove the trunk line, flavor lines, and electrical cables from the hole.
- If the threaded coupler was removed, thread it back into the head unit once the tubing and cables are pulled out of the hole.
Task 9: Disconnecting water lines from source and clean.
- Trace water line back to the source, taking care to remove any mounting materials holding the line.
- Disconnect the water line from the source.
- Clean and wipe down the countertop and interior of the cabinet to clean up any mess left behind.
- Show the decommissioned Bevi to the customer contact and explain what work was done. Demonstrate that all other appliances are back up and running if applicable.
NOTE: A critical part of the decommissioning process is reconnecting pre-existing appliances affected by the removal of our plumbing/electrical.
