BIB Connection Instructions
Task 1: Open the box front
- Open the front of the box fully so you have complete access to the bag spout.
Task 2: Pull the bag forward
- Pull the bag forward, out of the box, so you can get your hand in behind the spout.
Task 3: Clamp and push it on
- With your fingers behind the bag spout, clamp the spout and the connector together and push the connector onto the bag fitment as shown.
Task 4: Twist left to find the thread
- Still clamping both sides, twist the connector left until you feel it sit at the start of the thread.
Task 5: Clamp and twist it on
CRITICAL: Clamp the spout and connector together as you twist. That pressure is what lets the connector thread past the base of the bag fitment. Pressure alone will not stop a leak; it has to finish fully seated (see Task 6).
- Keeping that clamp pressure on both sides, twist the connector right onto the threads of the bag fitment.
Task 6: Dry connection
- Prior to priming, dry off the connection to ensure no drips are present.
Task 7: Inspect the connection
- Flange fully encompassed within the connector. No gap.
- Visible gap at the spout. Reseat the connection.
Task 8: Prime the line
Hold a cup under the nozzle and tap Prime on screen. It takes about 20 seconds.
- Hold a cup directly below the nozzle.
- Tap Prime for the slot you swapped.
Task 9: Check for leaks
With the line primed, check the connection again. Look for any drips or wet surfaces. A drip means it is not sealed.
- Dry at the fitting. Good to close up.
- Drip at the fitting. Reseat and prime again.
BiB/Flavor Leak Troubleshooting Process
If we’ve identified that there is a flavor leak after following these steps, additional troubleshooting is required
Task 1: Check for physical damage to the connector
-
Check for hairline cracks in the connector housing.
- These can be invisible to the eye. One method is to run a fingernail across the housing; a crack you can't see can often be felt as a catch or a ridge. Also, try holding it up to the light.
- If a hairline crack is identified, the BiB connector needs to be replaced.
Task 2: Follow the Leak
- Separate the connector and BiB, and move the BiB to another slot that has a known good connector that is not experiencing a leak.
- Enter the Service Panel (Gear icon enter PIN) and select Troubleshooting Tools.
- From the Troubleshooting Tools screen, navigate to Tools > Flavors and Enhancements
- If the BiB continues to leak on a known good connector, replace the BiB.
- If it's not leaking on a known good connector, use the BiB from our test slot and connect it to the leaking slot.
- If the known good BiB from the test slot is leaking, we may need to replace the BiB connector.
- If it's not leaking, repeat the BiB connection steps and test again.
