Description

This document provides guidelines around the use of the carbonator adapter kit 720-0168 (formerly 540-0036) per production deviation DEV-000089.  This kit enables the installation of a V1.5 carbonator P/N #111193-01 (formerly 100052-01), within older Bevi models (V.75 standup, V1 standup, V0 countertop).

FAQs

• Where can I order the carbonator conversion kit?
  • The 720-0168 (formerly 540-0036) kit is available to order as a spare part via the Bevi storefront.
• Are there other methods to install a V1.5 carbonator in an older Bevi machine?

• Yes.  By using a combination of additional 8 mm to ⅜” reducers and extra lengths of tubing, the V1.5 carbonator can be installed in older machines.  
• If an older model Bevi has already been installed with a V1.5 carbonator, do I need to replace the existing fluid connections with this new kit?
• No.  As long as there are no leaks and machine performance/output is nominal, then there is no need to change the current state of the carbonator installation.

IMPORTANT: The 720-0168 (formerly 540-0036) DEVIATED CARBONATOR ADAPTER KIT DOES NOT INCLUDE A FLOW COMPENSATOR.  THIS KIT MUST BE INSTALLED USING THE EXISTING 8MM FLOW COMPENSATOR FROM THE ACTIVE BEVI MACHINE.

Installation Process (new p/n 720-0168)

Carbonator Inputs

• Once the carbonator is placed within the machine location, perform the following steps:
• Water Input:

• During normal machine operation, water will flow from the filter output, through a water pressure regulator, and into the water input of the carbonator.  Use the 2x ⅜” elbow-to-stem push-to-connect fittings to assist in creating the secure tubing run from filter to carbonator.  As needed, use tube cutters to trim down the existing ⅜” tubes between the filter/regulator and regulator/carbonator.
• CO2 Input:

• Connect the existing CO2 polyethylene line from the output of the CO2 regulator to the CO2 input on the front of the carbonator.

Carbonator Outputs

• Connect the 1.5” length of ¼” tube (provided in the adapter kit) to the soda output of the carbonator.
• Connect 1x of the straight reducer fitting from the kit to the ¼” tube.
• Connect 1x of the 8mm tube to the opposite side of the straight reducer fitting.
• Connect the long arm of the 8mm flow compensator to the 8mm tube.
• Important - The 8mm flow compensator is currently installed within the Bevi machine and will be re-used with this kit.  The deviated carbonator adapter kit will not ship with an extra flow compensator.

• Connect the remaining 1x 8mm tube to the short arm of the 8mm flow compensator.
• Connect the remaining straight reducer to the 8mm tube.
• Connect the remaining 1.5” length of ¼” tube to the reducer.
• Connect the ¼” tube to the existing shut-off-valve on the machine soda water line
• Use the  12” length of ¼” tube to connect to the still output of the carbonator.
• This tubing can be cut using tube cutters to a desired shorter length in order to facilitate a better fit within the existing machine fluid system.
• Connect the tubing from the still carbonator output to the corresponding still ¼” push-to-connect shut-off valve that is installed within the existing machine fluid system.  
• It is critical to ensure that the still/soda outputs from the carbonator are connected to the correct still/soda lines on the machine.  To verify, look for labeling on the machine lines and visually trace the entire water flow from carbonator to nozzle.

Inspection

• After installation of the carbonator and adapter kit, follow instructions in the Bevi installation guide at partners.bevi.co for instructions on returning electrical power, water, and CO2 to the Bevi machine.
• Use the touchscreen to dispense still and sparkling water, ensuring no leaks within the fluid system and proper dispensing of still and sparkling water from the nozzle.
