Is there a cost to add touchless dispensing to my Bevi machine?
No, the touchless feature will be rolled out to all Bevi machines free of charge.
How do I get Touchless Dispensing on my Bevi machine?
An animation that guides you through the process will appear on the home screen of all Bevi machines connected to the internet. These are the simple steps:
1. Go to the Ingredients page using the Bevi Touchscreen.
2. Slide the Touchless toggle switch to the right.
3. Touchless dispensing is now enabled
My Bevi machine is not connected to the internet, how do I get connected?
To get your Bevi connected, reach out to support@bevi.co, and they will be able to get your machine online.
Will the touchless feature be available on all Bevi machines?
Yes! The feature will be rolled out to all Bevi machines that are connected to the internet.
How does touchless dispensing work?
Each time you use the machine, scan the QR code on the Bevi touchscreen with your phone’s camera or QR reader app. Open the link that appears on your phone’s screen and dispense your drink just like you would with the Bevi touchscreen, and disconnect from the website.
Do I need to download anything to my phone?
No need to download anything, the QR code accesses a web page.
Can I still use the screen if I don’t have a cell phone?
Yes! You can dispense using either the touchscreen or your smartphone.
How does my device connect to the machine?
The touchless feature uses the Bevi machine’s internet connection (WIFI, cellular or ethernet) and the phone’s WIFI or cellular connection. No Bluetooth is involved.
Are there devices/OS's this will not work with?
All major browsers are supported: Firefox, Chrome, Safari. All Bevi machines are supported EXCEPT ASUS tablets. (V0.75). You can contact your Bevi representative to upgrade your tablet.

Can I use this feature with devices other than a phone, such as a tablet?
Yes, as long as you can scan the QR code and have the internet access on the device. However, we recommend using a smartphone for the best user experience.
Is the phone / tablet required to be connected to the same wifi network? No.
What data will be accessed on my phone?
The Touchless feature uses a web page, so no personal data will be accessed.
Is there a possibility of remote dispensing not stopping if the app is in use and the device disconnects at the same time?
Yes, but only in the case of a user going from the touchless web page to the settings. The web page cannot discover this and could continue dispensing. We are currently working on resolving this issue.

What communication security is built into the touchless option?
All communication is encrypted (https + wss) from both the Bevi connection and the user’s connection.
Will it work if the machine is connected via ethernet or optconnect?
Yes.
Is there a way to disable this option?
Yes, by using the toggle button on the Ingredients page. Please note, once the machine is initially enabled, sliding back the toggle button will both disable the touchless function and re-activate the introduction animation.
Can the machine function ONLY via the touchless feature?
No.
How do you prevent someone dispensing from their phone while no one is at the machine?
The QR code is unique and cannot be reused. After the session, the QR code can never be used again. Someone will have to be close to the machine to start a session. After this initial reading, the user can walk away. When the user closes the phone or browser, the session ends. If the user walks away, there is an inactivity timeout after 20 secs. If the user walks away and keeps the session active, there is a timeout after 90 seconds. These can be logged, monitored, and adjusted by Bevi.
Is there a timeout function for the touchless connection?
Yes. Currently 20 seconds idle time and 90 seconds max total session time. • Timeout while dispensing and connection is lost: 3 seconds • Timeout while in session and no action from user (idle time): 20 seconds • Overall timeout of max session duration enforced by Bevi: 90 seconds
Does the user need to be within a specific range for the touchless webpage to work, similar to Bluetooth?
No. It's all via the internet.
Is there a possibility of connecting to multiple machines? For example, if I have two machines in the building and don’t disconnect from the first, and then connect to the second.
Yes, you can connect your phone to multiple machines. The QR code on the second machine would be different and you would have to scan it to activate a dispense. The QR code from the first machine will be overridden and no longer valid.
Can the touchless webpage possibly interfere with using the touchscreen normally? For instance, if someone logs into the touchless website, does not disconnect and walks away, will the next user have issues?
When a user is connected via QR code, a green icon shows in place of the QR code that says “mobile connected.” If another user taps the screen while the mobile device is in use, the session will be interrupted. When the session ends a new QR code will be shown.
The session ends when the user selects “disconnect” on the web page, exits the web page, or closes the phone. When the user walks away there's an idle timeout after 20 secs. If the user keeps the session non-idle, there's a timeout of 90 secs. This can be adjusted by Bevi Technical Support.
Can multiple users be connected simultaneously, and will it cause issues?
No. The web server ensures a single connection between the machine and user. The first connection will prevent other connections until disconnected or timed out.
