TECHNICAL BULLETIN - 3M FILTER HEAD REPLACEMENT
NOTE: At this time replacing the Pentek filter is not mandatory, but is highly recommended. We will re assess mid year 2021 as to the urgency of this procedure and making it a required retrofit.

FAQs
|
- Why does the Pentek filter need replacement?
- The Pentek filters have a history of threads leaking or the filter housing breaking
- Which units need this replacement?
- Only the V1.0 and V.75 SU Units need to have the filter replaced.
- How long does this replacement take?
- The replacement should take approximately 15 minutes.

Required Tools and Materials
|
- 3M Filter and Fittings Kit: 107729-01
- 3M Filter (HF20), 0.5 Micron: 901-0002
- 1” - ⅜” Socket
- Socket Wrench
|
Remediation Process
|
- Access the service panel by selecting “Ingredients” and select any flavor
- Hold down the X on the upper right hand corner for 5 seconds
- Select “Start Service” at the top of the screen
- Turn off the water source shut off valve behind the Bevi
- Press and hold the red button on top of the filter housing head until the water pressure is fully released from the system
NOTE: You should hear and feel a light air release
- Dispense still water from the touchscreen
- Remove the tubing from the push to connect fittings on either side of the filter head

- Use a 1”-⅜” socket wrench to remove the (2) nuts securing the filter head to the chassis
|
- Place the (2) nuts and washers nearby for later use
|
- Remove the Pentek filter from the unit to expose the (2) studs on the side wall of the chassis
|
- Place the new filter head on the studs and use the ⅜” socket wrench to reinstall the (2) nuts and washers for V1.0 or (1) nut and washer for V.75
NOTE: Only a single stud is used for installing the 3M filter in V.75 units
|
- Replace the tubing into the push to connect fittings on the new filter head along with (2) red locking clips
|
- Insert new cartridge into assembly by aligning it and then twisting clockwise until the filter locks in place
|
- Pressurize the system by turning on the water source, and then check for leaks.
|
NOTE: You should hear water filling the new filter
|
- Return to the service panel using the instructions earlier
|
- In the Filter section, press “Restock”
|
|
- Unless servicing flavors or CO2, press “No Action” for those items
|
|
- Flush the filter by dispensing around 2-3 liters of water, or until the water is clear of micro bubbles or sediment
|
NOTE: It is mandatory to log filter changes to the service panel, ensuring proper tracking in runouts of filters
