We are now offering a new and improved filter, the 3M HF20-I, which is an upgrade to the 3M HF20. Please see additional information and data sheet here. The 3M HF20-I is required for use in all Bevi models moving forward and is available to order here. The first time a HF20 filter is replaced with the new HF20-I, it is recommended to double the current filter lifetime.
Failure to swap a clogged filter may lead to additional wear and tear on the internal components, which increase the risk of leaks and service visits.
Instructions to swap the filter when replacing with the new 3M HF20-I filter:
OVERVIEW: Filter Lifetime
The Filter Lifetime on any Bevi machine is a set value of how many gallons of water we expect a filter to last before needing to be replaced. This is preset upon installation but can be adjusted at any time.
- Standup 1.5 and Standup 2.0 have a default of 1,500 gal
- Standup 0.75, 1.0 and Countertops have a default of 500 gal
The Current Filter level value is a measurement of how many gallons of water have passed through the filter since it was last replaced. Our machines report when a filter change is needed by using the above two numbers to predict a remaining filter life percent and runout date.
Filter Lifetime (Countertop, Standup .75, 1.0, 1.5)
For all Countertop and older Standup units the Threshold value can be found in the Filter section of the Service Panel. Tap Change Threshold to access.
The current set Threshold is indicated as Previous Threshold, see below.
How to edit Filter Lifetime (Countertop, Standup .75, 1.0, 1.5)
1. Navigate to the Service Panel on the machine and review the filter section. Press the Change Threshold button to edit.
REMINDER: The first time a HF20 filter is replaced with a HF20-I, it is recommended to double the current filter lifetime. (Example: Current: 500 gallons - Updated: 1,000 gallons)
2. If you've determined that the filter is restricting water flow and the current Filter Level is lower than the Threshold you must adjust the Threshold number lower. This ensures that the unit requests a filter swap before the filter starts to restrict water flow to the machine.
Example:
Current Threshold: 900gal | Current Filter Level: 750gal
Enter Custom Threshold of 700gal
3. If the Current Filter Level is greater than the Filter Threshold you need to adjust the Threshold higher. This allows us to minimize the number of service visits and filters used by avoiding unnecessary swaps.
Example:
Current Threshold: 750gal | Current Filter Level: 1,000gal
Enter Custom Threshold of 1,000gal
Filter Lifetime on The Standup 2.0
For Standup 2.0 units, the Filter Lifetime value can only be accessed by going through the Filter Swap Wizard at this time.
1. Begin the Filter Swap and you will be presented with the option to Edit Lifetime.
Your current filter lifetime is displayed at the top, see image below.
How to edit Filter Lifetime on The Standup 2.0
1. Navigate to the Service Panel on your unit and head to the filter section. Press the Filter button to enter the swap menu.
REMINDER: The first time a HF20 filter is replaced with a HF20-I, it is recommended to double the current filter lifetime. (Example: Current: 1,500 gallons - Updated: 3,000 gallons)
2. Press on the Edit Lifetime button, see image below.
3. If you've determined that the filter is restricting flow and the Current Filter Level is less than the Filter Lifetime, you must adjust the Lifetime number lower. This ensures that the unit requests a filter swap before the filter starts to restrict water flow to the machine.
Example:
Current Lifetime: 1,000gal | Current Filter Level: 525gal
Enter Custom Lifetime of 500gal
4. If the filter is working properly and the Current Filter Level is greater than the Filter Lifetime you need to adjust the Lifetime higher. This minimizes the number of service visits, filters used and avoids unnecessary swaps.
Example:
Current Lifetime: 1,000gal | Current Filter Level: 1,125gal
Enter Custom Lifetime of 1,200gal
