What is changing with the updated dispense interface? The dispense interface was redesigned to make beverage categories and nutrition information easier to browse, we also introduced features designed to simplify the dispensing experience.
Why did Bevi make this change? To help solve key user pain points and to facilitate our new beverage launches, we decided to launch an updated interface for drinkers.
What are the key benefits of the new interface? The new dispense interface brings several meaningful improvements for Bevi users:
- Beverage categories are displayed prominently at the top of the screen, making it easy to scroll through and find exactly what you're looking for.
- The dispensing experience has been upgraded. Drinkers can either hold to pour as before, or tap a drink size option to dispense.
- A new one-tap clear button lets anyone quickly reset the previous drinker's selections. This is especially useful on busy machines where speed and turnover matter.
- Plain water is now the default selection, making the most common use case the simplest and immediately clear to first-time users.
- Temperature and carbonation sliders have been redesigned for easier adjustment and are conveniently located near the pour button.
- Coming soon: The new UI unlocks two entirely new beverage categories: Sports Drinks and Energy Drinks.
Which machines will receive the new UI upgrade and when?
- Standup 2.0: All units will receive the coming weeks.
- Signature Countertop: All units will ship with the new UI from initial install.
- Countertop 1.0 and 1.5: These units are planned to receive the new UI in early Q4, following the Standup 2.0 rollout.
- Standup 1.5 and older: These units will not receive the new UI.
What is the cost? The updated dispense interface is a free software update — there is no additional cost to customers or partners.
Is it possible to roll back to the previous UI? No. Once the update is deployed to a machine, there is no rollback to the previous interface.
Why was the water selection moved to the bottom of the interface? User testing showed that customers typically prioritize boost and flavor selection before choosing water type and temperature. We have found in testing that 84% of people are following this order.
What are beverage categories, and which categories are available in the new UI? Beverage categories are the top-level groupings drinkers use to browse and select drinks on the machine. The new UI introduces a category-forward browsing experience, with categories displayed prominently at the top of the screen alongside nutrition information.
Categories available in the new UI include:
- BeviBoost (includes all enhancements)
- BeviWater (includes all unsweetened flavors)
- BeviFruit Bursts (includes Black Cherry and Blackberry Lime flavors)
- COMING SOON: BeviPop (includes our BeviPop line up of flavors)
- COMING SOON: BeviSport (includes combo options for the Orange Cream, Blueberry Fizz, and Lemon Limeme BeviPop flavors + Electrolytes)
- COMING SOON: BeviEnergy (includes combo options for all BeviPop flavors + Energy Boost)
Note: Categories will only appear on-screen when the relevant products are installed on the machine.
What are combos and what combos are available? Combos are beverages created by pairing BeviPop concentrate with one of Bevi's enhancement boosts — producing an entirely new beverage category in a single tap. There are currently two combo categories available:
- Sports Drinks — BeviPop + Electrolytes
- Energy Drinks — BeviPop + Energy Boost
All combos require BeviPop flavors and the corresponding enhancement to be installed on the machine.
Will customers and partners be notified before the update is deployed to their machines? Yes. Bevi will communicate to customers and partners in advance of the rollout. Specific timing and communication details will be shared closer to the launch date.
What should I say to a customer who asks about the update? The new UI is a free upgrade that makes Bevi machines easier and more intuitive to use. It's rolling out in the coming weeks and requires no action from the customer.
How do I enter the service panel? You can enter the service panel by clicking the gear icon in the lower right corner of the screen.
Can I disable the volume pour feature on a unit? Yes! Please send an email to support@bevi.co with the customer name and Bevi machine information.
I selected the one of the pre-set ounce sizes on my machine, but the volume poured seems slightly off and I'm not getting the exact amount of ounces I selected. Why is that? Some small variation is normal. Pour volumes can drift slightly due to flow rate differences across machines, so amounts won't always be exact, though they should stay within a close tolerance of the target.
Why can't I get ambient or hot sparkling water? Sparkling water is only available when paired with Chilled water because carbonation depends on temperature. CO2 dissolves and stays in solution far better in cold water. At ambient or hot temperatures, the water can't hold the same amount of dissolved CO2, so the sparkling water would go flat almost immediately rather than maintaining its fizz.
Why does the UI require scrolling? As our beverage portfolio has grown, we needed more room to show the full range of options and category information clearly. Scrolling lets us present each choice with enough detail while keeping the interface organized by category.
What if I have a question that isn't answered here? We'd love to hear from you! Please send an email to support@bevi.co with the customer name and Bevi machine information.
