SU 2.0 Install Diagnostics - Heater Current Too Low/Not Connected, or Too High

Overview

This diagnostic test confirms if the heater current is within expected ranges after the heater and water system are completely filled, that and the machine is in normal operating condition prior to launching Incubation.  A failure of this diagnostic test could indicate an issue with the heater power cable connection, the heater, or power module.  This failure will NOT block you from completing Installation and launching Incubation.

DISCONNECT POWER BEFORE SERVICING.

WARNING: The next steps involve working with the live 120 VAC heater power cable. Before attempting to re-seat the 120 VAC heater power cable, turn the machine off, then unplug the 120VAC heater power cable. Continue with steps 4-6 below with the machine off and cable unplugged.

  1. Power off the Bevi and unplug the power cord. 

  2. Remove plastic top cover from the Bevi.

    • Open door.
      • If the door is not already open, touch “Open Door” in the upper right corner of the screen.
    • Remove the 3 screws from the base of the cover.
    • Lift the cover off and place to the side.

  1. Remove the top and center panel from the back of the Bevi.

    • Loosen the screws in the corners of the panels.
    • Lift the panesl up to unhook from the screws, and remove.
    • Place the panels to the side. 

 

  1. Check the Heater power cable connection at the Power Module.

    • On the left side of the power module, locate the large red 120v heater power connector.
    • Check and verify that the connector is fully seated.
    • Visually inspect connector and wires for any damage.
    • Disconnect, and reseat the red heater power cable.  
      • Ensure the connector is fully seated and clicks into place.

  1. Check the Heater power cable connection at the Heater.

    • Locate the large red connector for the heater power harness. 
      • The wires for the heater power connector are blue and red on the heater side, and blue and brown on the power cable.  
    • Check and verify that the connector is fully seated
    • Visually inspect connector and wires for any visible damage.
    • Disconnect, and reseat the heater power cable.  
      • Ensure the connector is fully seated and clicks into place.

  1. Inspect the length of the power cable between the Power Module and Heater.  

    • Inspect for any cuts, knicks, or abrasion on the wiring.  

  2. Plug in the Bevi and Power on. 

    • Proceed through installation to get back to the Diagnostic Test. 

  3. Repeat Diagnostic Test.

    • If the test passes, reinstall the back panel and top cover.  
    • If the Heater Current test continues to fail, please contact Bevi Support at 866-704-2384.
