Required Tools & Parts
- P/N #720-0095 - FRU - FLAVOR PUMP
- 2x small zip ties
- #1 and #2 Phillips Head Screwdrivers
- Flush cut pliers
- Small container
Remove and Replace Procedure
Task 1: Power Off the Bevi.
- Power off the Bevi using the power switch on the front of the chiller.
- Disconnect the power cord from the back of the chiller.
Task 2: Disconnect the Flavor Box.
- Open the cabinet and locate the flavor box that corresponds to the pump that is being replaced.
- Pump #4 will be replaced in this example.
- Turn the threaded connector counter clockwise to disconnect from the box.
Task 3: Remove the Back Panel.
- Open the cabinet, and locate the threaded collar that secures the head unit in place.
- Loosen the collar 1 to 2 turns.
- Carefully rotate the head unit on the countertop to get access to the back panel.
- Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, remove the 8x screws securing the back panel to the head unit.
- Place the screws to the side in a safe place.
- Carefully pull the back panel away from the head unit.
- NOTE: There are electrical cables attached to the back panel, take care not to put tension on the cables while moving the panel.
- Disconnect the 24 V power cable from the control board.
- Carefully disconnect the white connector from the board.
- Do not pull directly on any of the wires.
- This allows some extra slack in the cabling to move the back panel out of the way.
- Move the back panel to the side.
- The panel can be leaned against the side of the Head Unit while you work.
Task 4: Inspect the Pump Cable Routing.
- With the pack panel removed, start by inspecting the wire routing on the pumps
- Specifically inspect the wires on pumps 3 and 4 looking for damage (cut or damaged wires).
- Compare to the images below to determine the necessary replacement steps.
- For Option A, where no cable mounting location is present, please continue to Task 5.
- For Options B and C, where there is either a plastic zip tie mount, or sheet metal mounting tab, please continue to Task 6.
Option A - No Mounting Locations 👇
Option B - Zip tie mounts present 👇
Option C - Sheet metal features present 👇
Task 5: Install Zip Tie Cable Mounts (Routing Option A)
- For Head Units with NO cable routing option, install two adhesive backed zip tie cable mounts for pumps 3 and 4.
- This is intended to reroute flavor pump wiring to prevent interference with the back panel.
-
If you do not have the cable mounts on hand to install, please contact Bevi Support at 866-704-2384 (BEVI) and we will assist in supplying replacements.
- 2X ADHESIVE CABLE TIE MOUNT - .75 SQ - .2 X .08 TIE (P/N 110045-01)
- Peel and stick the adhesive zip tie mount to the sheet metal inside the head unit for pumps 3 & 4.
- The mounts should be approximately 1 - 2” in from the back edge of the Head Unit, roughly centered with the metal side panel screw flange. (Pictured Below)
- Once the cable mounts have been installed, jump to Task 6, Step 3 to continue with the Flavor Pump replacement procedure.
Task 6: Remove the Flavor Pump.
- Locate the flavor pump to be replaced.
- Each pump is labeled on the inside of the head unit.
- Pump #4 is being replaced in this example.
- If replacing flavor pump 3 or 4, first cut the zip tie securing the flavor pump cable to the zip tie mount, or sheet metal tab.
- Using flush cut snips, carefully cut the zip tie.
-
Take care not to cut or damage any of the wiring.
- Disconnect the electrical connection to the pump.
- Depress the lock latch to release the connector.
- Using a #1 Phillips screwdriver, remove the two screws at the top and bottom of the flavor pump.
- Place the screws to the side in a safe place for reinstallation.
- Slide the pump out of the mounting bracket.
- Carefully cut the two zip ties securing the 1/4" flavor tubing to the barbed fittings on the pump.
- Take care not to cut or damage the tubing when cutting the zip ties.
- Prior to disconnecting, take note of the orientation of the flavor lines for reinstallation.
- Gently twist and pull on the tubing to remove it from the barbed fitting.
- Do not remove the barbed fitting from the pump.
- Remove the pump from the head unit.
Task 7: Install the new Flavor Pump.
- Unbox the new flavor pump.
- Reconnect the two flavor lines to the barbed fittings on the pump.
- Take note of the orientation of the tubing connections. The tube from the box to the Head Unit connects to the lower fitting, the tube from the pump to the nozzle connects to the upper fitting.
- Ensure the tubing is fully seated onto the barbed fitting.
- Install two new zip ties to secure the tubing.
- Install the pump onto the mounting bracket.
- It is helpful to first install one screw into the hole to help locate the pump.
- Thread the screw into the pump, leaving it loose until the second screw is installed.
- Install both screws and tighten.
- Reconnect the pump cable.
- Align the lock latch.
- Ensure the connector clicks in securely.
- For pumps 3 and 4, install a new zip tie to secure the pump cable to either the plastic adhesive cable mount, or sheet metal tab.
- Cut the excess zip tie flush.
- Ensure that when the cable is secured that it does not protrude past the back edge of the head unit to avoid any potential damage to the cable when installing the back panel.
Task 8: Reinstall the Back Panel.
- Reconnect the 24 V power cable to the control board.
- Ensure the connector is fully seated and clicks into place.
- Place the panel up to the back of the head unit, and install the 8x mounting screws.
- Ensure that no cabling is pinched.
- Leave the screws loose until all 8 are installed.
- Once all screws are installed, fully tighten.
- Rotate the head unit back to its original position.
- Tighten the threaded collar to secure the head unit.
Task 9: Prime the flavor line.
- Reinstall the flavor connector onto the flavor box.
- Ensure the connector is seated flush, and turn the threaded connector clockwise until it is hand tight.
- Plug in the power cord and power on the Bevi.
- Navigate to the Service Panel.
- Touch the service icon in the upper left corner.
- Touch "Start Service"
- Enter the PIN to access the service panel.
- Hold a container directly under the nozzle.
- When priming, only flavor concentrate is dispensed.
- Flavor may come out at an angle.
- Press and hold the Prime button for 30 seconds.
- The timer will count down from 15 seconds, and then back up to 15.
- If no flavor is dispensed:
- Double check the connection between the flavor box and the threaded connector.
- Confirm you can hear the pump running.
- Double check the tubing connections on the pump, if they are reversed flavor will not dispense.
