Task 2: Power Off the Bevi.
- Power off the Bevi using the power switch on the front of the chiller.
- Disconnect the power cord from the back of the chiller.
Task 3: Remove the chiller from the cabinet.
- Carefully lift the front of the chiller so the locating tabs on the bottom can come up and out of the ventilation holes.
NOTE: Avoid spilling water from the ice bank by taking extra care to keep the chiller flat and level, and minimize any excess handling.
-
Slide the chiller forward so the front hangs over the edge of the cabinet.
- Remove the red locking clip and disconnect the 3/8" water-in tube from the back of the chiller.
- NOTE: This step may not be necessary if there is enough slack on the water line to fully remove the chiller without putting tension on the tubing.
- Lifting from the front and the rear grab handle, carefully lift the chiller out of the cabinet and place on the floor.
Task 4: Remove the right side panel.
- Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, loosen the two screws securing the right side panel of the chiller.
- With the screws fully loosened, lift the panel up and out of the locating tabs at the bottom.
- Place the panel to the side.
- With the panel removed, you now have access to the Backflow Preventer.
Task 5: Remove the Backflow Preventer.
- Using cable snips, cut the zip tie securing the backflow preventer to the plastic panel mount.
- Take care not to damage any tubing when cutting zip ties.
- Pull the backflow preventer slightly out from the side of the chiller to allow for easier access.
- Disconnect the input and output tubes from the push to connect fittings on the Backflow preventer.
- If present, remove the red locking clips.
- Disconnect the 1/4" to 3/8" stem adapter from the top.
- Disconnect the stem elbow from the bottom.
- Remove the Backflow preventer from the Compact Chiller.
Task 6: Install the new Backflow Preventer.
- Unbox the new Backflow Preventer.
- Insert the supplied zip tie into the plastic mounting tab.
- Reconnect the input and output tubes to the Backflow Preventer fittings.
- Ensure the backflow preventer is in the correct orientation, with the arrow indicating flow in the upward direction.
- Ensure the fittings are fully seated.
- Secure the backflow preventer in place with the new zip tie.
- Ensure that the vent fitting is facing backwards towards the fan and copper coils.
- If the vent fitting is facing out towards the side panel it could cause a leak out of the chiller.
- If needed, pliers can be used to pull extra tension on the zip tie.
- Using flush cut snips, cut off the excess zip tie.
Task 7: Reinstall the Chiller.
- Reinstall the side panel.
- Ensure the locating tabs slot into place
- Tighten the screws to secure the panel.
- Carefully lift the chiller into place in the cabinet.
- Ensure the locating tabs on the bottom of the chiller fit into the ventilation holes and the chiller sits flush on the cabinet floor.
Note: Avoid spilling water from the ice bank by taking extra care to keep the chiller flat and level, and minimize any excess handling.
- If it was disconnected during removal, reconnect the 3/8" water supply tube.
- Ensure the tubing is fully seated into the push to connect fitting.
- Reinstall the red locking clip.
- Reconnect the chiller power cord.
- In the front access panel, open the buffer tank valve.

NOTE: Confirm that the Filter Flush valve is in the closed position.
- Confirm the water source is turned on.
- From the "Water" controls menu, open the inlet solenoid.
- This will allow water to enter the chiller and fill the buffer tank.
- While filling the buffer tank, observe the internal water pressure increasing in the Data section.
- Once water pressure has stabilized, the buffer tank should be full.
- Confirm the Ice Bank is full.
- After removing and reinstalling the chiller, it is possible the ice bank is no longer full.
- In the Chiller Data section, confirm that Chiller "Full" reads YES.
- If the chiller is not full, press "Start" in the Chiller Controls menu to fill the ice bank.
- Once the Buffer Tank and Ice Bank are filled, test the functionality of the Bevi.
