Remove and Replace Procedure
Task 1: Power Off the Bevi.
- Power off the Bevi using the power switch on the front of the chiller.
- Disconnect the power cord from the back of the chiller.
Task 2: Remove the chiller from the cabinet.
- Carefully lift the front of the chiller so the locating tabs on the bottom can come up and out of the ventilation holes.
- Slide the chiller forward so the front hangs over the edge of the cabinet.
- Remove the red locking clip and disconnect the 3/8” water supply line from the back of the chiller.
- This step may not be necessary if there is enough slack on the water line to fully remove the chiller without putting tension on the tubing.
- Lifting from the front and the rear grab handle, carefully lift the chiller out of the cabinet and place on the floor.
Task 3: Remove the top panel.
- Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, loosen the two screws securing the top panel of the chiller.
- With the screws fully loosened, lift the front of the panel up, and slide forward to release the rear locating tabs.
- Place the panel to the side.
Task 4: Remove the Chiller Temperature Sensor.
- Locate the Chiller Temp sensor on the top of the ice bank.
- Using a Phillips-head screw driver, remove the screw and plastic washer securing the temperature sensor to the ice bank.
- Remove the temperature sensor from the ice bank.
- Gently pull up on the white wire to remove the sensor from the plastic housing.
- Cut all of the zip ties securing the temperature sensor to the other wires in the Chiller.
- Caution: Take care not to cut or nick any of the wiring while cutting the zip ties.
- Disconnect the temperature sensor from the Chiller Sense Harness and remove the sensor from the chiller.
Task 5: Install the new Temperature Sensor.
- Unpackage the new sensor.
- Place the new sensor down into its slot in the top of the ice bank.
- Reinstall the plastic washer which holds the temperature sensor in place.
- Install the mounting screw.
- Route the wire as it was prior to removal, and reconnect the cable to the chiller sense harness.
- Install new zip ties to secure the wiring.
Task 6: Reinstall the Chiller.
- Reinstall the top panel.
- Ensure the locating tabs slot into place
- Tighten the screws to secure the panel.
- Reconnect the chiller power cord.
- Carefully lift the chiller into place in the cabinet.
- Ensure the locating tabs on the bottom of the chiller fit into the ventilation holes and the chiller sits flush on the base of the cabinet.
- If it was disconnected during removal, reconnect the 3/8” water supply tube.
- Ensure the tubing is fully seated into the push to connect fitting.
- Reinstall the red locking clip.
- Turn on the water supply.
- Open the Buffer Tank.
- Power on the chiller.
Task 7: Verify Chiller Temperature Sensor functionality.
- Once the Bevi is powered on, navigate to the Troubleshooting Tools menu.
- In the Data section under “Chiller”, check and confirm the chiller temperature is reading correctly.
- If the temperature is reading, the repair is complete.
- If the temperature is reading as “NaN”, recheck the temperature sensor connection and chiller sense harness connection at the BUC Board.
