In general, water temperature has a direct effect on carbonation level - the colder the water, the more carbonated the water.
If the water is coming out at room temperature or does not appear cold enough, then the refrigeration cycle of chiller carbonator may not be working properly, which could cause low carbonation. Try the following actions:
Action #1: For newly installed units, ensure incubation has been run
If the unit is newly installed or the chiller carbonator has been recently replaced, make sure the incubation feature has been activated after the install. The incubation period allows 3 hours for the Bevi unit to completely cool down to optimal temperature, allowing the best carbonation experience.
Action #2: Verify the carbonator is powered on properly
Check that the chiller carbonator is plugged in and powered on. Verify that the green light is lit on the side of the carbonator.
Action #3: Ensure that the ice bank is full
When you first fill the ice bank, the water should overflow into the overflow tube before shutting off the filling water. If this overflow does not happen, the ice bank may not be filled to the optimal level.
Action #4: For non-1.5 units only, verify the still and sparkling water lines are connected properly
The line with black insulation should be connected to Chill Water In, and the line with the white flow regulator is connected to Sparkling Water In. The non-insulated line should be capped or closed off.
Action #5: For Countertop units only, insulate the water lines between the chiller carbonator and the Countertop head unit
In some cases, due to warm ambient air inside a Countertop's cabinets, the chill water and sparkling water traveling between the chiller carbonator and the Countertop head unit may warm by 3 to 4 degrees Fahrenheit. Thus, you may need to insulate those lines to minimize temperature increase through the travel path of the water lines.
First, you will need to purchase pipe insulation tape. We recommend this tape.
Second, using the insulation tape, wrap all the water lines between the chiller carbonator and the Countertop head unit. Start an inch or two past the end of the supplied insulation for on the soda/still water out lines leaving the chiller, and wrap all exposed lines an inch or two past the insulation on the console tubing. You can also wrap any unions, tees, or shut offs as well since the adhesive side of the tape is not water tight so if there was a leak the insulation will not hide it.
