SBC Temp Too High (CT 1.5 Install Dx Error)

Troubleshooting Steps

Task 1: Repeat the Diagnostic Test

  1. If the test fails, you can first attempt to restart the diagnostic tests to see if it passes on the second attempt.
  2. If the test continues to fail, power cycle the Bevi via the power switch on the front of the chiller.
    • Navigate back through installation to the Install Diagnostic step and repeat the test.
    • If the test continues to fail, continue to Task 2.

Task 2: Check Head Unit Exhaust Fan.

  1. Reach behind the head unit and feel if there is any air moving from the exhaust fan.
    • If air is moving out of the head unit from the fan but the diagnostic test continues to fail, then there may be an issue with the SBC.
      • Please contact Bevi Support at 866-704-2384.
  2. If the fan is not moving air from the back, check and see if it is spinning.
    • If the fan is not spinning, continue to Task 3.
    • If the fan is spinning, but no air is blowing out of the back, it may be installed backwards, jump to Task 4.

Task 3: Check Fan Connections

  1. Remove the back panel from the Head Unit.

    • Under the countertop, loosen the split nut 2-3 turns.
    • Carefully rotate the head unit to access the back panel.
    • Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, remove the 10 screws securing the back panel to the head unit.
    • Carefully remove the back panel.
    • NOTE: The back panel has wiring attached, take care not to put any tension on cabling.

  1. Check the fan wiring connection:
    • Locate the connector for the fan power.
    • Verify that the connector is fully seated and clicks together.
    • Inspect the wiring to ensure there is no damage or loose pins in the connector.
    • If the fan cable is properly connected but will not turn on, then it may be faulty.

Task 4: Correct Fan Orientation.

  1. If it is found that the fan is pulling air in rather than blowing air out, it will need to be flipped.
  2. If not already done in Task 3, Remove the back panel from the Head Unit.
    • Under the countertop, loosen the split nut 2-3 turns.
    • Carefully rotate the head unit to access the back panel.
    • Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, remove the 10 screws securing the back panel to the head unit.
    • Carefully remove the back panel.
    • NOTE: The back panel has wiring attached, take care not to put any tension on cabling.
  3. Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, loosen the 4 screws securing the fan to the back panel.

  4. Flip the fan over to reverse the direction of airflow so it is blowing out of the back of the head unit.

  1. Reinstall the 4 screws and nuts to secure the fan to the back panel.

    • NOTE: One screw is retained by a metal clip instead of a nut. This needs to be located on the top left corner of the fan when looking from the back.

Task 6: Repeat the Diagnostic Test

  1. Rerun the test.
    • If the test passes, continue with Installation.
    • If the test continues to fail, then it is possible either the demand pump or BUC board is faulty.
