Overview
Bevi has discontinued the use of red locking clips for internal PTC (push-to-connect) fittings located inside both the Countertop (CT) 1.5 head unit starting December 2025, and in the compact chiller starting March 2026.
The red locking clips are still used on the external connections to the compact chiller. This includes the supply water in and sparkling/still line out connections, the ambient out plug, and the CO2 supply line in connections.
There is no change to the usage of red clips in Countertop 1.0 and other Standup Bevi machines at this time; continue to replace red clips where used on those models during service.

What to Know (Q&A/FAQ)
Why is Bevi making this change?
To improve efficiency. Eliminating the red locking clips on the interior PTC fittings in the compact chiller and head unit saves time when performing service or repairs, and also during manufacturing. We determined there was no extra benefit to using them inside the chiller, and no downside to removing them.
Is this okay? Don’t we need the red clips?
Our engineers confirmed that discontinuing the use of red locking clips inside these components does not increase the risk of leaks or reduce build quality.
John Guest, the creator of these push-to-connect fittings, has validated that the red clips are not mechanically active, and only act as a visual and physical indicator to help prevent unintended release of connections. This is why we continue to use them to secure outside connections, but do not require the red clips to be used on the interior fittings which are accessed less often.

Compact Chiller
Red locking clips are not required on any PTC fittings inside the compact chiller. Drag the sliders left or right to view compact chiller fittings with the red clips installed, and with the red clips removed (These photos are examples and may not show every single fitting inside the compact chiller).
Red clips stay on the input/output connections.
The red clips are still required and used on the water in, still and sparkling out, and ambient out fittings at the rear of the compact chiller, and the CO2 connection under the CO2 panel.
