Overview
From February 2025 on, updated versions of “Gen 2” SBC and “Gen 2” Display Assembly have been introduced for the Bevi Standup 2.0 units. This article describes the key differences between the Gen 1 and Gen 2 SBC (computer board) and Display Assembly (touchscreen), and how to properly identify the SBC version.

Q: Why was the SBC (computer board) changed?
A: The Gen 2 SBC was designed to make meaningful updates to improve the design. The new design integrates some external components onto the SBC itself, improves serviceability, and supports more recent versions of Android operating systems.
Q: When will the Gen 2 SBC/Display Assembly start shipping in new Standup 2.0 machines?
A: These changes were cut into production for Standup 2.0 machines manufactured as of January 30th, 2025 to ship out to the field.

- Gen 1 SBC is only compatible with Gen 1 Touchscreen Assembly (US/NA only)
- Gen 2 SBC is only compatible with Gen 2 Touchscreen Assembly.

SBC (computer board)
OLD “GEN 1 SBC (COMPUTER BOARD)”: FRU P/N #720-0103
- WiFi & Cellular Antennas
- Two cellular antennas and WiFi antenna are mounted at the top of the door, with cables connecting to the SBC.
- Cellular Module
- Separate component that can be removed from the SBC.
- Ferrite Rings
- Two large ferrite rings attached the ethernet cable.
- Speaker
- Speaker is mounted in the door hinge.
- Cable is routed from the hinge to the SBC.
- Cable Connections
- Electrical connections are on the back of the SBC.
- Requires the SBC to be removed from the door to access cabling.
- WiFi Capability
- Supports 2.4 GHz networks only.

- WiFi & Cellular Antennas
- Onboard cellular and WiFi antennas.
- No cabling required.
- Cellular Module
- Cellular module is now built into the SOM (System on Module).
- Not removable from the SBC.
- Ferrite Rings
- One small ferrite ring attached the LVDS video cable between the SBC and Display. (not visible in photo)
- Two medium ferrite rings on the USB cable between the Door Control Board and the SBC.
- Buzzer
- Speaker is replaced by an onboard Buzzer.
- Slight change in tone compared to the Gen 1 speaker.
- No cabling required.
- Cable Connections
- All electrical connections are now on the front of the SBC.
- Cables are accessible without removing the SBC from the door.
- Power Cable
- Updated 12 VDC SBC power cable connector.

- Supports 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks.
Touchscreen / Display Assembly

- Cables will come pre-installed with the Display Assembly FRU.
- Not offered as separate FRUs.
How to Identify SBC/Display Type:
Method 1: Using The Well
- From the Well unit page, you can find the SBC version in the Machine Identifiers section.
- Gen 1: AAEON_V2_R02
- Gen 2: QUECTEL_V2_R01
Method 2: Troubleshooting Tools
- SBC version is displayed in the Software dropdown at the top left corner of the Troubleshooting Tools screen.
Method 3: Physical identification
- The Gen 2 SBC is physically larger than the Gen 1.
- Machines with a Gen 2 SBC will not have the Cellular and Wifi antennas present at the inside top of the door.
