Alert Details
Excessive Heater Temperature Detected - This alert is triggered when the Bevi has detected that the heater temperature has exceeded 96°C. The Standup 2.0 heater temperature range should normally fluctuate between 85 and 92. If the heater temperature reaches 96 it is an indication that the heater temperature sensor may have failed. Symptoms of this issue may include steam coming from the nozzle as the heater temperature approaches its boiling point.
Required Tools & Potential Parts Needed
- #2 Phillips Screwdriver
- PN #105615-01 - CABLE SENSOR HEATER TEMP & RES LEVEL
-
PN #720-0057 FRU - HOT WATER HEATER (US/NA)
- 240 V only: PN #720-0301 FRU - WATER HEATER - 240V (UK)
-
PN #720-0101 FRU - POWER MODULE (US/NA)
- 240 V only: PN #720-0303 FRU - POWER MODULE - 240V (UK)
Troubleshooting Steps
Task 1: Inspect Heater Temperature Data
-
Navigate to the Troubleshooting Tools Screen.
- Touch the Service button in the top left corner of the main dispense screen.
- Touch "Start Service" on the right side of the screen.
-
Enter the access code “1986”.
- The door should open. If it doesn't, press the “Open Door” button.
Task 2: Test the temperature sensor.
- From Troubleshooting Tools, press and hold the “POUR” button to dispense hot water.
- While dispensing hot water, monitor the heater temperature under the Data > Water section.
- Continue to dispense hot water until the heater temperature drops to around 80°C.
- Under Controls > Water, turn on the Heater.
-
With the heater on, monitor the heater temperature.
- While the heater is running, the temperature should steadily increase.
- If there are any temperature spikes of >96°C or large, erratic temperature swings occur without corresponding hot water dispenses, jump to Task 3.
Task 3: Inspect the Heater Temp & Res Level Cable.
-
With the door OPEN, Turn off the power switch on the top rear of the unit.
- If the door is not open, press “Open Door” at the top right of the Troubleshooting Tools screen prior to powering off.
-
Disconnect the power cable.
- Remove the 3 screws at the front bottom edge of the cover.
-
Remove the white plastic cover by lifting up on the front of the cover
- Set aside cover and screws
-
Inspect the Heater Temp & Res Level cable at the power module.
- Check the cable connector and wiring for any damage such as nicks or cuts to wires, loose pin connections in the connector, and that the connector is fully seated.
-
Carefully disconnect the cable from the power module, and reseat.
- There is a lock latch that needs to be depressed to release the connector.
- When reconnecting, ensure the connector is fully seated and clicks in securely.
- Reinstall the top panel and secure with the 3 screws that were previously removed.
-
Remove the Center Panel from the back of the Bevi.
- Loosen the 4 screws in the corners of the panel.
- Lift the panel up to unhook from the screws, and remove.
- Place the panel to the side.
-
Inspect the Heater Temp & Res Level cable at the Heater.
- Check the cable connector and wiring for any damage such as nicks or cuts to wires, loose pin connections in the connector, and that the connector is fully seated.
-
Carefully disconnect the cable from the heater, and reseat.
- There is a lock latch that needs to be depressed to release the connector.
- When reconnecting, ensure the connector is fully seated and clicks in securely.
- Once reconnected, reinstall the back panel.
Task 4: Retest.
-
After checking and reseating the Heater Temp & Res Level cable connections, repeat the steps from Task 2.
- If there are still any temperature spikes of >96°C or large, erratic temperature swings occur without corresponding hot water dispenses, then the heater temperature sensor has likely failed, and the heater will need to be replaced.
- Please contact Bevi Support at 866-704-2384 (866-704-BEVI) for assistance with replacement.
- See [Guide] Standup 2.0 Heater - Remove and Replacement for remove any replace procedure.
-
For NA/US Machines:
- PN #720-0057 FRU - HOT WATER HEATER (US/NA)
- PN #105615-01 - CABLE SENSOR HEATER TEMP & RES LEVEL
-
FOR UK Machines:
- PN #720-0301 FRU - WATER HEATER - 240V (UK)
- PN #105615-01 - CABLE SENSOR HEATER TEMP & RES LEVEL
-
Once the heater has been replaced, retest with the steps in Task 2.
- If the issue is not resolved, go to Task 5.
Task 5: If replacement heater does not resolve:
- If the Heater and Temp & Res Level sensor cable have been replaced, but the issue persists, then the Power Module may have failed.
