WARNING | |
HAZARDOUS VOLTAGE (120 V / 240 V). CONTACT MAY CAUSE ELECTRICAL SHOCK AND INJURY. DISCONNECT POWER BEFORE SERVICING. |
Task 1: Confirm replacement Heater voltage.
- Before continuing with removal steps, verify the replacement heater you have is the correct voltage range for your location.
- Each heater has the voltage marked on the bottom of the hot water tank.
- For North American Bevi machines using 110 V – 120 V power source, the heater is marked “120 V”.
- For UK/Europe Bevi machines using 220 – 240V power source, the heater is marked “230 V”.
- If the heater you received does not match the power source voltage in your region, please do not proceed, and contact Bevi Support at 866-704-2384.
Task 2: Disconnect power from Standup 2.0
-
- Turn off the power switch on the top rear of the unit.
- Remove the power cable.
Task 3: Remove the center panel from the back of the Bevi.
-
- Loosen the screws in the corners of the panel.
- Lift the panel up to unhook from the screws, and remove.
- Place the panel to the side.
Task 4: Disconnect the Heater Power Cable.
-
-
Locate the large red connector for the heater power cable.
- Disconnect the heater power cable.
-
Press the two lock latches on the sides to release the connector.
- NOTE: UK/Europe (240 V) Bevi units will have black jacketing around the heater power cable.
- Once the heater power cable is disconnected, plug in the power cord and power the Bevi back on.
-
Locate the large red connector for the heater power cable.
Task 5: Flush the hot water out of the Heater.
-
-
Once the screen has powered on, navigate to the Troubleshooting Tools Screen.
- Touch the Service button in the top left corner of the main dispense screen.
- Touch "Start Service" on the right side of the screen.
- Enter the access code “1986”.
- The door should open. If it doesn't, press the “Open Door” button.
-
Once the screen has powered on, navigate to the Troubleshooting Tools Screen.
- From the service panel, touch "Alerts and Maintenance, then "Troubleshooting Tools"
- Place a large container under the nozzle.
- Using the Pour button in the lower left corner of the screen, continuously pour HOT water to flush the heater. CAUTION: The water dispensed in this step will be very hot.
- The heater is no longer powered, so this will flush the heater with cold water to lower the temperature so it is safe to handle.
- Continue pouring cold water until the Heater Temp is below 30°C.
- If Heater temp data is reading “NaN”, then the heater temperature sensor is not reporting; you will need to continuously flush hot water until the water is no longer dispensing hot.
Task 6: Depressurize the water system.
-
- Close the buffer tank.
- With the door open, access the Buffer Tank shut off through the hole above the filter.
- Turn the valve ¼ turn clockwise to close the Buffer Tank.
- The valve should be pointed out of the access hole when closed.
- Close the buffer tank.
- Turn off the water source to the Bevi.
- Locate the shut off valve on the water source behind the machine and turn it off.
- On the screen, pour COLD water until no water is coming out of the nozzle.
- Continue dispensing until the Internal Water Pressure is at or below 0psi.
Task 7: Remove the Demand Pump.
In order to access the heater, you will first need to remove the demand pump.
- Turn off the Bevi and unplug the power cord.
- Disconnect the inlet and outlet tubes from the demand pump.
- Remove the red locking clips, and disconnect the tubing from the push to connect fittings on the pump.
- Note the routing of the tubes for reinstallation.
- Using a long-bladed #2 phillips screwdriver, remove the 4 mounting screws at the base of the demand pump.
- Note: The two rear mounting screws are not easily visible, and can be difficult to access without a proper length screwdriver.
- Remove the demand pump to access the heater.
- For easy storage, you can hook the demand pump bracket between the plumbing shelf and chiller while you work on the heater.
Task 8: Remove the Heater.
-
- Disconnect the hot water tube from Manifold 2.
- Using a pair of pliers, compress the spring clamp and slide it down the tube.
- Gently twist and pull to disconnect the hot water tube from the barbed fitting on Manifold 2.
- Disconnect the hot water tube from Manifold 2.
NOTE: Once the tubing is disconnected, it may drain out if left hanging in a downward orientation. See image below for a convenient spot to hold the tubing.
- Disconnect the stem elbow from the metal push-to-connect fitting on top of the heater.
- Disconnect the heater temperature and level sensor cable.
- Remove the 11/32” nut and disconnect the ground wire.
- Reinstall the nut to secure the remaining ground wires.
- Using either a #3 Phillips screwdriver or 3/8” wrench, remove the two mounting screws from the base of the heater.
- Remove the upper mounting screw at the top of the heater bracket.
- Carefully slide the heater out and remove it from the machine.
- Once the heater is removed, it can be drained out of the top fitting.
Installation Steps
Task 9: Installing the replacement heater.

- Ensure the heater sensor and power cables are not pinched and are accessible once heater is in place.
- Carefully slide the heater into place.
- Reinstall the 3 mounting screws.
- Connect the ground wire.
- Ensure the other two ground wires remain in place.
- Connect the heater sensor and power cables.
- Connect the heater inlet tube to Manifold Two.
- Secure the tube with the metal clamp, ensuring that the clamp is over the barbed fitting.
- Connect the hot water output tube to the metal push-to-connect on top of the heater.
Task 10: Reinstall the Demand Pump.
-
- Reinstall the demand pump onto the plumbing shelf.
- It is helpful to insert the two rear mounting screws into the rubber grommets prior to placing the pump on the shelf.
- Install and tighten the remaining screws.
- Reinstall the demand pump onto the plumbing shelf.
- Reconnect the inlet and outlet tubes to the demand pump.
Task 11: Fill and test the Heater.
-
- Plug in the power cord and power on the Bevi.
- Navigate back to the Troubleshooting Tools menu.
- Fill the Heater.
- Place a container under in the dispense area and pour hot water until it begins to dispense from the nozzle.
- Once water is dispensing from the nozzle, confirm in the Data section that the heater is reporting as full.
- Verify heater temperature is reading correctly.
- Note: The heater is not yet up to temperature so it will likely be highlighted in red, this is normal.
- Using the Controls menu, turn on the heater.
- Confirm heater current is within expected range:
- North American (120 V): Heater current between 6.5 A – 7.5 A when on.
- UK/EU (240 V): Heater current between 3.5 A – 4.1 A when on.
- If you do not see a heater current reading when the heater is powered on, turn off the Bevi, unplug the power cord, and confirm the heater power cable is connected properly.
- Confirm heater current is within expected range:
Task 11: Test the machine and reinstall the back panel.
-
- Once the heater has been tested, exit the service panel and go back to the main dispense menu.
- Test all functions of the machine to ensure they are working properly.
