Overview
This guide is meant to walk you through the step by step process of swapping the Base Unit Control Board (BUCB) in a Bevi Standup 2.0
⏱️ This replacement takes approximately 20 minutes to complete.
Required Tools & Materials
- FRU - BASE UNIT CONTROL BOARD - 720-0102
- #2 Phillips Screwdriver
Removing the BUC Board
Task 1: Disconnect power from Standup 2.0

Turn off the power switch on the top rear of the unit.

Remove the power cable
Task 2: Remove the top panel from the back of the Bevi.
- Loosen the six phillips screws in securing the panel.
- The screws do not need to be fully removed
- Lift the panel up to unhook from the screws, and remove.
- Place panel to the side.
Task 3: Disconnect Cables from the BUC Board.
- Disconnect all cables connected to the BUC Board.
- Disconnect the USB, Power, Sensor, and Flavor Pump Panel cables.

Press and release the lock latch clip on each connector and disconnect from the board.
- Take care to not pull directly on any wires to avoid damage.
- Tip: It can be helpful to take a photo of the cabling prior to disconnection for reference during reinstallation.
Task 4: Remove the BUC Board.
- Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, remove the 4 mounting screws in the corners of the BUC Board.
- NOTE: Standup 2.0 machines with the updated “Gen 2” structure will only have 2 mounting screws in the top corners.
- The bottom corners of the BUC Board are slotted into two mounting tabs. (pictured below)
- Remove the BUC Board from the machine.
Task 5: Install the new BUC Board.

Install the new board and secure with the 4 mounting screws.
- The screws only need to be snug, do not overtighten.
- For machines with Gen 2 Structure, slide the bottom of the board into the mounting tabs, and install the two upper screws.

Reconnect all cables to the BUC Board.

Plug in the USB, 24v power, sensors, and flavor pump panel cables.
- All cables with the acception of the flavor pumps are unique, and cannot be plugged in incorrectly.
- Ensure each connector clicks in securely.
- The 4 flavor pump connections are the same, if needed trace the cables back to the pump panel to identify the correct location.

Plug in the USB, 24v power, sensors, and flavor pump panel cables.
Task 6: Restart machine and confirm all components are working.
- Reconnect the power cord.
- Power on the Bevi with the power switch,
- Once the Bevi is powered on, confirm the alternating green & red heartbeat LED on the BUC Board is flashing.
Task 7: Confirm BUC Board communication.
- Navigate to the Service Panel.
- Touch the Service button in the top left corner of the main dispense screen.
- Touch "Start Service" on the right side of the screen.
- Enter the access code “1986”.
- From the Service Panel, navigate to the Troubleshooting Tools menu.
- Touch “Alerts & Maintenance”
- Touch “Troubleshooting Tools"

In the “Data” column under the Electrical tab, verify the Power Module is connected.
- You should see BUC Board Connected = YES.

If the BUC Board is not connected, power off the machine and confirm the USB cable is properly connected.
- If the cable is properly connected but the BUC Board is still showing as not connected on the Troubleshooting Tools screen, follow troubleshooting steps here: [Guide] Install Diagnostics - Board Not Detected (DCB, PDB, BUC)

Task 8: Check For Updates
After installing the new BUC Board, it is important to be sure the firmware is up to date.

In the upper left corner of Troubleshooting Tools, check if there is an update available.
- Touch the “Update” button if present.
- The Bevi will download the BUC Board firmware update.
- Once update is complete, touch “Restart”
Task 9: Test Functionality
- Pour cold, sparkling, hot water, and test flavors to confirm the Bevi is dispensing properly.
- If the issue is resolved;
- Reinstall the back panel.
- Close the door
- If the issue is NOT resolved;
