Troubleshooting Steps
Before Continuing
The Compact Chiller is very sensitive of being moved once the ice bank is filled. Any excess movement can cause water to spill out and collect in the base, which will cause a leak to be detected. If the chiller was moved or removed from the cabinet after the ice bank was filled it may be the cause of the diagnostic failure.
Task 1: Remove the chiller from the cabinet.
- Power off the Bevi using the power switch on the front of the chiller.
- Disconnect the power cord from the back of the chiller.
- Carefully lift the front of the chiller so the locating tabs on the bottom can come up and out of the ventilation holes.
- Slide the chiller forward so the front hangs over the edge of the cabinet.

Remove the red locking clip and disconnect the 3/8” water supply line from the back of the chiller.
- The supply tube may be under pressure at this time. If you are unable to disconnect the 3/8” tube from the water in fitting, contact Bevi Support at 866-704-2384 for assistance in depressurizing the system.
This step may not be necessary if there is enough slack on the water line to fully remove the chiller without putting tension on the tubing.

Lifting from the front and the rear grab handle, carefully lift the chiller out of the cabinet and place on the floor.
- Take care to not put any stress or tension on any tubing or electrical connections.
- If needed, disconnect the 24v Head Unit power cable, and Head Unit USB connections from the back of the Compact Chiller.
NOTE: Take care to keep the chiller as flat and level as possible. Excess movement will cause water to slosh out of the ice bank and leak into the base.
Task 2: Remove Top and Side Panels.

Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, loosen the two screws securing the top panel of the chiller.
- The screws are captive and will remain attached to the panel
- With the screws fully loosened, lift up on the front of the panel up and out of the locating tabs at the back to remove it from the chiller.
- Place the panel to the side.
- With the panel removed, you now have access to the Inlet Solenoid.
- Loosen the two screws at the top of each side panel.
- With the screws fully loosened, slide the panels up and out to release the locating tabs at the bottom.
- Place the panels to the side.
Task 3: Inspect the base for water.

Inspect the base of the chiller to confirm if water is present.
- If standing water is present in the base pan, remove it before proceeding.
- The leak sensor pins are located in the center of the chiller, between the condenser fan and compressor.
- Any water present that is connecting the two leak sensor pins pictured below will cause a leak to be detected.
- Once the base is dry, continue to next steps.
- If there is no water present in the base, jump to Task 7.
Task 7: Locate the Source of the Leak.

Inspect the compact chiller water path to try and identify the source of the leak.
- Look for evidence of active drips, puddles, or hard water deposits, which indicate a previous or ongoing leak.
- Pay close attention to tube connections — loose tubes not fully seated in push-to-connect fittings and damaged or cracked fittings are common sources of leaks.

Backflow Preventer
- Inspect the plastic fittings on the top and bottom of the Backflow Preventer.
- Ensure tubing connections are fully seated into the fittings.
- Check for any cracks or damage to the fittings.

Demand Pump
- Ensure tubing connections are fully seated.
- Check for any leaking between the threaded push-to-connect fittings and the pump itself.

Water Coil push-to-connect fittings
- Ensure the inlet and outlet elbow fittings are fully seated onto the 5/16 stainless steel water coil tubes.
- Carbonator Pressure Relief Valve
- If any leaks are found at tubing connections, ensure the tube is fully seated into the push to connect fitting.

If the tubing is fully seated but still leaking, disconnect and inspect the tubing.
- Ensure the tubing is cut flush and evenly, and no damage to the tubing itself.
- If any damaged components, fittings, or tubing is found to be the source of the leak, please contact Bevi Support at 866-704-2384 for further assistance.
Task 4: If No water is present in base.

If no water is found in the base, inspect the leak sensor connection at the BUC Board.
- Remove the PCB panel.
- Locate the leak sensor connection on the left side of the BUC Board.

Inspect the leak sensor cable and connector for any visible damage.
- Check for any loose pins, cuts, or damage to wires.

Carefully disconnect, and then reconnect the leak sensor cable.
- Ensure the connector is fully seated and clicks into place.
Task 5: Reinstall the Chiller.

Reinstall the top, side, and PCB panels.
- Take care not to pinch any wiring in the panels.
- Ensure the locating tabs slot into place
- Tighten the screws to secure the panels.

Carefully lift the chiller into place in the cabinet.
- Ensure the locating tabs on the bottom of the chiller fit into the ventilation holes and the chiller sits flush on the base of the cabinet.
- Keep the chiller as flat and level as possible, and avoid any excess movement as this may cause water to spill from the Ice Bank triggering a leak to be detected.

If it was disconnected during removal, reconnect the 3/8” water supply tube.
- Ensure the tubing is fully seated into the push to connect fitting.
- Reinstall the red locking clip.
- Turn on the water supply.
- If disconnected during removal, reconnect the 24v Head Unit power cable, and Head Unit USB cables.
- Plug in the power cord and power on the chiller via the switch on the front of the chiller.
Task 6: Repeat the Diagnostic Test
- Once the Bevi starts up, continue through the Install Wizard back to the diagnostics step.

Rerun the test.
- If the test passes, continue with Installation.
